So where is Duntroon? If you have been to the MacKenzie country and heading back southeast toward Oamaru on Route #83 from Omarama about 75kms you will come to the community of Duntroon.
One major reason to visit this area is to visit the
Vanishing World where they have on display many of the 25 million old fossils found in the surrounding countryside such as the shark-toothed dolphin.
The other reason is the wild pink building that houses the Flying Pig cafe where you can find a good coffee plus some fabulous muffins.

Well worth a visit for both.
