Read below for cafes known or discovered by other coffee lovers:

Jim Keane writes the following:

Hi Ron and Paula, just caught up with your site after reading the article in the NZMCA mag. Great to know there is some good stuff out there, there sure is plenty of the other stuff!

My wife and I started our 'rest of our life' journey on friday last, we've got an Autosleeper motorhome from the UK based on a Peugeot Boxer engine/chassis. We're from auckland and are in Katikati as I write on our way down south.

I write to tell you of two fabulous coffee shops in Auckland, I feel qualified to speak of them as i've spent a small fortune in them over the last few years.
'Icoco' in Royal Oak began as only a roastery with only a few privileged to taste the heavenly brew but over the last 18 months it has become a sanctuary for the aficionado, owned by Mark and Jose and mostly managed by Jason from Singapore. The coffee is great and the food offerings whilst not very diverse are temting and tasty.
'Luscious' in Onehunga is owned and operated by Jason Marconi and his wife Rachel and has been in operation for perhaps 5 years, testament to it's popularity for tremendous coffee and superb display counter of food to satisfy everyone from across the spectrum, meat lovers to vegans.
the service in both cafes is impeccable too, something we find rarely in our search for the pefect cup!!

Best Wishes to you on your travels, hope to run into you some day, metaphorically of course!!

Jim and Sheryll Keane

and from a  new arrival to Wellington from Christchuch :

Hi Ron,
Was just emailing to mention the cafe 'Doria' in Wellington.
I recently moved up to Wellington from Christchurch and it has taken a while to find a few good
cafes, but Doria is top of my list now! They make awesome coffee, and THE BEST muffins in the world! If you have not been there yet, I highly reccommend
a visit, and you have to try a blueberry and chocolate muffin too!!
Taranaki St, Wellington - near the Courtenay Place
intersection
